Webelos Invited to Klondike Derby
The objective for this activity is to support the Webelos in completing AOL Scouting Adventure requirement 4: With your Webelos den leader, parent, or guardian, participate in a Scouts BSA troop's campout or other outdoor activity.
What is the Klondike Derby?
The Klondike Derby is a chance to learn and test winter camping skills. It helps teach the basic Scouting skills in the program: lashings can be tough to remember as an abstract exercise, but if the Scouts need to make a catapult, lashings go to the top of the list of cool things to do!
Patrols travel around to different Stations, which test traditional Scouting skills: pioneering, compass reading, fire building, knots & lashings, rope tossing, Leave No Trace, Nature and first aid. Other stations will require problem-solving or initiative games.
Patrols earn points at each Station and compete for the highest score at the Derby.
Cub Scouts should arrive at 9:45 am (30 minutes after the Troops start the Stations). Cub Scouts can visit the campsite and will be provided lunch by the Troop.

Memorial Day Service
May 26, 2024
For more than seven decades, approximately 5,000 Scouts have gathered at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery before Memorial Day to decorate each of the approximately 280,000 graves with an American Flag. In its 75th year (2024), the tradition is one of the longest-running Memorial Day events within the BSA.
It takes approximately 2 hours to complete the Good Turn, and Scouts will have placed over 200,000 flags placed on each grave.
Service hours are required for each rank advancement from Tenderfoot through Life.
The RSVP form is open now.
Summer Camp 2024
Dates / Location TBD
The Troop leadership will soon be planning Summer Camp 2024.
We are considering attending an out-of-Council camp this year. Historically, the Troop alternates between attending S-F Scout Ranch and an out-of-Council camp every other year.
Ballwin Days 2024
Save the dates!
The Scouts of Troop 357 operate a concession stand at Ballwin Days as our biggest fundraiser of the year.
Scouts and their families that opt to work, will raise money for their individual Scout Accounts. It is common to earn enough money to cover dues and registration for the whole year just from this one fundraiser…and it’s fun!
The Scouts who work get 80% of the profits! The remaining 20% go to the Troop's operating fund.
