ABOUT US

OUR PROGRAM

Our program typically runs September through July and concludes with a week long summer camp - either in the Greater St. Louis Area Council at the beautiful S-F Scout Ranch, or out-of-Council at another exciting Scout Reservation!

During the school year, we meet once a week, on Tuesdays.

We plan for at least one outing each month. We camp, hike, backpack, canoe, kayak, learn skills, and serve our community. We camp outdoors or stay in cabins and lodges, depending on the location and activity.

We welcome new members to join our Troop at any time throughout the year, with no prior Scouting experience needed.

FIRST-YEAR PROGRAM

Troop 357 strives to help all Scouts reach First Class Rank within the first 12-18 months after joining the Troop.  Scouts learn all of the basic skills during this critical time.

EMERGING LEADERS

Scouts are emerging leaders after reaching First Class Rank.
These Scouts build the leadership skills and gain critical outdoor experience.

SENIOR SCOUTING

Senior Scouts are encouraged to challenge themselves both mentally and physically by participating in more advanced, high-adventure activities.

But...

What if I already do other things, like homework, music and sports?

You can still be a Scout! All of our Scouts go to school and most participate in other activities during their Scouting career, like club or school sports, marching band or take lessons for things like music or martial arts. If they can do it, you can do it too! We understand that Scouts may miss meetings or camp outs, or come late or leave early. When you think about it, youth will often spend a full 7 years in Scouting. We take this long term view, because we know that Scouting will be there though the ebb and flow of their other activities, providing a solid foundation to learn and grow from. Few things are as beneficial, accommodating or keep youth engaged for as long as Scouting.
